GAMES

These games will run in Windows or DOS:

Dalekatk.zip: Dalek Attack. This game has what I call ‘nice’ graphics. Though it’s totally unfaithful to the series, its arcade style and action make unlike most other games on the market today. Choose to play the second doctor, seventh doctor, the Brigadier or Ace. Very entertaining.

Dalekgame.zip: the well-known VB Dalek game. Very simple premise and graphics, but a wonderful stress reliever and great device for whiling away the time when something is downloading.

MinesTerror.zip: The Mines of Terror. A sixth doctor adventure with practically non-existent graphics, but it does feature a robotic cat (probably based on one of JNT’s rumours). It requires a c64 program to run, but that’s included in the zip.

Mars.zip: A text game based on the fourth doctor story, ‘The Pyramids of Mars’. Well detailed, with lots of options, but a bit boring if you’re very familiar with the story.

Karn.zip: Return to Karn. A text game by Patrick Wigfull. It’s a sequel to the story, ‘The Brain of Morbius’, and very sophisticated. It has lots of detail, and interesting things such as an appearance by K9. This game is not to be missed.

drwhoworms2.zip(26KB): A Doctor Who level for Worms 2, featuring simple representations of the TARDIS, a Dalek and a scarf.
worms2sounds.zip(801KB): A Doctor Who sound bank for use in Worms 2. Click the button on the left to hear what a worm would say in place of "Oops!".
Dalekworms.zip(77KB): A level for Worms reinforcements, featuring a lanscape modelled on the Daleks.
Doomtardis2.zip(242KB): A level for Doom2 with the TARDIS in.
 Doomwho12.zip(1.86MB): A Doctor Who level for Doom2.
Quakedrwho.zip(181KB): A Doctor Who level for Quake, featuring the Daleks.

First download amstrad_cpe52.zip: the necessary emulator needed to run the following games.

Rolandintime.zip: Roland in Time – a game in the Roland… series which requires the above emulator. It’s about Roland travelling through time in his phone booth. It tries to pretend it has nothing to do with Doctor Who, but who are they kidding?

Rolandinspace.zip: Roland in Space – another game in the long list of Roland games, but this and the above were the only ones to be connected to Doctor Who.

Timemag.zip: Time and Magik – in these three text games you travel in a Grandfather clock which is bigger on the inside than out. It does have graphics, though these hinder the game a bit.

The following three games are bundled together, and need to be run on a Spectrum emulator, which is included in the zip: spectrumgames.zip.

Dr What! A game that for once doesn’t pretend it isn’t a Doctor Who imitation. An interesting game, and the graphics are good for a game of the era.

The Five Doctors – a rather pathetic text game based on the novel. The storyline is meaningless to those who know the story, and the controls are limited.

Head over Heels: This hasn’t got a lot in common with Doctor Who, but it has some resemblances. It is well known for being one of the best Spectrum games available. Good when you get the hang of the controls.

These games require a BBC emulator and ROMs, which can be downloaded at Acorn BBC Micro site.

Dwfirstadventure.zip: Doctor Who – The First Adventure. The first Doctor Who computer game. It involves you trying to defeat the Black Guardian in four different short games. Basically they are arcade games like Frogger and Pac-man changed a bit to be Doctor Who. The graphics are pretty bad, and the game play is difficult to get to grips with, so its probably only worth downloading if you're a BBC games fanatic.

Moonbasealpha.zip: Moon Base Alpha. This game basically links to several sci-fi and other shows at the time. You are marooned on Moon base alpha by your crew. You have to find payment for the Doctor so he can take you home by travelling around the base. You meet Daleks, though they’re not called that, and Marvin (from the Hitch-Hikers Guide to the Galaxy). Would be better if the control wasn’t so hard.
